Sticky chocolate loaf
- 125 grams butter or margarine
- 250 ml golden syrup
- 250 grams regular flour
- 125 grams caster sugar
- 25 grams chocolate (can be excluded)
- 20 grams cacao powder
- 1 egg
- 150 ml milk
- dash salt
- 1 Icing sugar for dusting
- In a pan, melt the butter and syrup together on a low heat, stir occasionally.
- When melted, remove from the heat and add the chocolate either in pieces or roughly chopped.
- Mix together the dry ingredients.
- Add the milk and the egg to the dry ingredients and combine it slightly.
- Add your butter-syrup-chocolate mix to the flour mix and stir together.
- Line a bread pan with parchment papper and pour in your chocolate mixture.
- Bake your cake at 170F celsius (338 F) for 35 minutes.
- Then cover your cake with aluminium foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Take out your cake and let it cool completely before lifting it out of the bread pan.
- Then dust with icing sugar and enjoy!
