Brown Sugar Buttermilk Pie Recipe
- 1 x Deep dish 9-inch pie shell
- 1 c. Packed brown sugar
- 3 Tbsp. All-purpose flour
- 3 lrg Large eggs
- 1 lrg Egg yolk
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. Buttermilk
- 3 Tbsp. Unsalted butter, melted, cooled
- Position rack in center of oven and preheat to 400 .
- Thaw pie crust 10 min.
- Bake crust till pale golden brown, about 12 min.
- Transfer to rack and cold.
- Reduce oven temperature to 350 .
- Blend brown sugar and flour in processor.
- Add in egg, yolk and vanilla and process till blended.
- Add in buttermilk and melted butter and process just to blend.
- Pour mix into cooled crust.
- Bake pie till filling puffs and is almost set but center still moves slightly when pan is shaken, about 45 min.
- Cold pie on rack to room temperature.
- Refrigeratetill cool, at least 2 hrs and up to 1 day.
- Cut into wedges and serve.
