Brown Sugar Buttermilk Pie Recipe

  1. Position rack in center of oven and preheat to 400 .
  2. Thaw pie crust 10 min.
  3. Bake crust till pale golden brown, about 12 min.
  4. Transfer to rack and cold.
  5. Reduce oven temperature to 350 .
  6. Blend brown sugar and flour in processor.
  7. Add in egg, yolk and vanilla and process till blended.
  8. Add in buttermilk and melted butter and process just to blend.
  9. Pour mix into cooled crust.
  10. Bake pie till filling puffs and is almost set but center still moves slightly when pan is shaken, about 45 min.
  11. Cold pie on rack to room temperature.
  12. Refrigeratetill cool, at least 2 hrs and up to 1 day.
  13. Cut into wedges and serve.
