Meat Pie
- 1 lb. sausage, sauteed, crumbled and thoroughly drained
- 1 1/2 lb. ground round, sauteed, crumbled and thoroughly drained
- 2 medium onions, chopped and slightly sauteed
- 2 c. grated potatoes, cooked until done and thickened in sufficient water to cover
- 1/2 tsp. chili powder
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
- 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
- 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Combine the first 4 ingredients and season with remaining ingredients.
- Bring to simmer and add 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon water.
- Stir until thickened.
- Place filling in 2 (9-inch) pie crusts; cover with top crust and brush with cream or rich milk.
- Crimp edges and pierce top crust in several places.
- Bake in preheated 425u0b0 for 20 minutes.
- Lower heat to 350u0b0 and continue to bake until golden brown.
- Freezes well.
- Serve with a green salad.
