Lemon-Walnut Tea Loaf

  1. Preheat oven to 350F.
  2. Combine flour and baking powder; set aside.
  3. Beat margarine and sugar in medium bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy.
  4. Blend in lemon zest and juice.
  5. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Add flour mixture alternately with the milk, beating on low speed after each addition just until blended.
  7. Stir in walnuts.
  8. Spread into greased 8x4-inch loaf pan.
  9. Bake 55 min.
  10. to 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  11. Cool in pan 10 min.
  12. ; remove to wire rack.
  13. Cool completely.
  14. Cut into 14 slices to serve.
