Savory Crust Chicken Bake
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 c. (8 oz.) sour cream
- 1 egg
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. ground thyme or sage
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 to 1 c. Cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 small carrot, finely chopped
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small green pepper or celery, finely chopped
- 1/2 c. red pepper or 1/4 c. pimento, chopped
- 2 tsp. butter
- 2 c. cubed cooked chicken or turkey
- 1 1/4 c. condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 c. mushrooms, drained
- In small mixing bowl, combine butter, sour cream and egg. Beat at medium speed until smooth.
- Add flour, salt, baking powder and thyme, blending at low speed until thoroughly mixed.
- In ungreased pie pan or baking dish, spread batter evenly over bottom and up sides of 1-inch of rim.
