Chocolate Caramel Layer Brownies
- 18 14 ounces chocolate cake mix
- 12 cup margarine or 12 cup butter, melted
- 1 cup evaporated milk
- 35 caramels, unwrapped
- 12 ounces chocolate candies, mini m&m's
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease 13x9 inch pan.
- Combine dry cake mix, melted margarine, and 2/3 cup evaporated milk in large bowl and mix well.
- Spread half of batter (about 2 cups) in greased pan.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, heat caramels with remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk over low heat in small saucepan until melted, stirring constantly.
- Remove pan from oven, sprinkle with 1 cup of candy.
- Drizzle with caramel mixture.
- Drop remaining batter by heaping spoonfuls over caramel mixture.
- Sprinkle with remaining 2/3 cup of candy.
- Return to oven and bake for additional 20 - 24 minutes or until center is set.
- Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled.
