Beef And Noodles
- 1 1/2 lb. cubed chuck steak
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 4 c. water
- 1 tsp. parsley flakes
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp. oregano
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. dairy sour cream
- 2 or 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
- hot cooked noodles
- Brown meat in shortening in a large frying pan.
- Sprinkle onion soup mix over top, then stir in; stir in water, parsley flakes, garlic powder, oregano and pepper.
- Heat to boiling; cover.
- Simmer 1 1/2 hours, or until meat is tender.
- Stir about 1/2 cup of the hot sauce into sour cream in a small bowl; stir back into mixture in frying pan.
- Blend cornstarch with a little water until smooth in a cup; stir into mixture in pan.
- Cook, stirring, until sauce thickens and boils 3 minutes.
- Serve on noodles.
