Maple Snack Bread
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 13 cups packed brown sugar
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 34 cup wheat bran or 34 cup wheat bran
- 12 cup walnuts, chopped
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 21 ounces apple pie filling
- 12 ounces evaporated milk
- 3 large eggs, slightly beaten
- 12 cup butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon imitation maple flavor
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Grease two 8 x 4 inch loaf pans, I used cooking spray.
- Combine flour, brown sugar, whole wheat flour, bran, walnuts, baking soda, cinnamon and salt.
- In a separate bowl mix apple pie filling, evaporated milk, eggs, butter and maple.
- Stir to separate apples.
- Add apple mixture to flour mixture until just moistened.
- Spoon batter into prepared pans.
- Bake 55-65 minutes or until wooden toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool in pans on wire rack for 10 minutes.
- Remove bread to wire racks to cool completely.
