Unstuffed Peppers

  1. I start by browning the hamburger and seasoning it with Johnnys Seasoning Salt, white pepper, cumin, and a dash of sea salt.
  2. Once its about halfway browned, I start making the Spanish rice according to the package directions.
  3. Sometimes I add a little cumin to this too while its cooking.
  4. (I would love to make my rice from scratch, and Im sure could improve the end result of this recipe, but I dont have the time.)
  5. At the same time, add the bell pepper strips, garlic, jalapenos and green chilies to the ground beef to saute them in the grease.
  6. If you choose to use ground turkey, you can saute them in about a tablespoon of olive oil and then add the turkey to them.
  7. I mix the Spanish rice into the meat and peppers.
  8. Let it simmer a few more minutes on low heat to let the flavors mingle.
  9. I serve this in bowls and top each one with shredded cheese.
  10. Pick your favorite one or make a blend.
