Treasure Bars

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
  2. Add brown sugar and sugar to butter and cream.
  3. Beat in unbeaten eggs.
  4. Beat well after each addition.
  5. Add vanilla.
  6. Beat until fluffy.
  7. Add dry ingredients, alternately with milk beginning and ending with milk. Blend well after each addition.
  8. Stir in cherries and chocolate. Turn into 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly pan or two 9 x 9-inch pans. Grease and flour bottom.
  9. Bake at 325u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
  10. Frost while warm and cut into squares.
