Cabbage Rolls Kaldomar(Sweden)
- 1 egg
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 2/3 c. milk
- 1/2 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 3/4 c. cooked rice
- 6 to 8 large cabbage leaves
- 1 can tomato soup
- 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 c. water (optional)
- Combine first 6 ingredients and mix well. Add meats and rice. Beat together. Steam cabbage leaves until limp.
- Drain.
- Place ball of meat mixture on each leaf at the thin end part; fold in sides and roll heavy vein part to the top. Fasten with a toothpick.
- Place rolls in baking dish.
- Blend soup, brown sugar and salt together.
- Add water, if desired.
- Pour over cabbage rolls. Bake at 350u0b0 for about 1 hour and 30 minutes or until done. Serve with boiled potatoes.
- Yields 6 servings.
