How to remove black stains under dogs eyes.

  1. There are 2 methods.
  2. Whatever method you choose remember to always wipe from the inside corner to the edges.
  3. Never from the outside edges inward.
  4. It takes patience if the stains have set in.
  5. Keep praising your dog while you work.
  6. First method is to soak a gauze pads with baby oil and gently wipe in an outward motion away from the corner of the eye.
  7. If there are crusty pieces, the oil will remove the whole thing.
  8. But don't force anything near the eyes.
  9. If there are set in stains well below the eyes, you can break them up with your fingers and wipe away.
  10. Second method is using baby wipes.
  11. I found it takes a little longer this way and if your dog is a squirmer someone has to hold their head still.
  12. Finish by wiping off excess oil with a tissue.
  13. If you want to use a paper towel, make sure it's a little damp.
  14. NEVER use cotton balls since they shred and can get caught in the eye and lashes.
  15. Give treat(s) and praise them constantly.
  16. Do this once a week and there will be no build up.
  17. Hint: Starting to clean a dogs eyes can overwhelm them at first.
  18. Have patience and never force them or have someone hold them tight.
  19. Be gentle and calm with them each and every time.
  20. Eventually they will become accustomed to this.
