Buffet Bean Bake
- 6 slices bacon
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. vinegar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. mustard (yellow)
- 1 can butter beans
- 1 can French green beans
- 1 can pork and beans
- 1 can lima beans
- 1 can yellow wax beans
- 1 can kidney beans
- 1 can Durkee French fried onions
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- In a medium skillet, fry bacon until crisp.
- Remove from skillet, crumble and set aside.
- Drain all but 2 tablespoons of drippings from skillet.
- Add packed brown sugar, vinegar, salt and prepared mustard.
- Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes. In a large bowl, combine drained butter beans, French green beans, pork and beans, lima beans, yellow wax beans, kidney beans, 1/2 can of French fried onions and hot sugar mixture.
- Spoon in a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
- Bake, uncovered, at 350u0b0 for 30 minutes.
- Top with bacon and rest of onion.
- Bake 5 minutes more to brown.
- Makes 12 to 14 servings.
