Bread Pudding With Irish Whiskey Sauce

  1. Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
  2. Toss dried fruit with flour and finely chop.
  3. Scald milk over low heat (do not boil).
  4. Set aside.
  5. Whip eggs until frothy, slowly stir in sugar and whip until smooth. Add sugar and egg mixture to scalded milk.
  6. Stir in vanilla. Place bread cubes in 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  7. Sprinkle with fruit and raisins.
  8. Pour milk and egg mixture over bread.
  9. Using the back of a large spoon, press the bread down into the pan so milk mixture is absorbed.
  10. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
  11. Place pan into large pan filled with 1-inch of water.
  12. Bake at 350u0b0 for 45 minutes or until top is deep golden brown.
