This is the Best! Delicious Pork Spare Ribs

  1. Heat a generous amount of oil in a pan, and brown the meat on both sides.
  2. There's no need to cook the ribs all the way through at this point; just brown them.
  3. Transfer the meat to a large pot, and add enough water to cover.
  4. Heat over medium-high heat, and turn down to medium-low just before the water comes to a boil and skim off the scum.
  5. Add all the ingredients from the dashi stock granules to the sake.
  6. Simmer uncovered for 1-2 hours.
  7. The longer you simmer it, the more tender the ribs get.
  8. When there's almost no liquid left in the pot, it's done.
  9. My husband loves this so it's in our standard rotation.
  10. We make this at least once every two weeks.
  11. Take care not to let the ribs burn.
  12. It's best when the sauce is thick and coats the ribs.
  13. Yummy!
