L.L.'S Pot Roast Recipe
- 3/4 c. fresh cranberries
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 tbsp. flour
- 1/4 teaspoon each salt & pepper
- 3 pound bottom round rump roast
- 2 tbsp. lard
- 1 c. beef broth
- 1/3 c. horseradish
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 stick cinnamon
- 12 ounce. jar sm. onions, liquid removed
- 12 ounce. baby carrots
- 3 white turnips, peeled & cubed
- 1.
- Combine cranberries, sugar and water in saucepan.
- Simmer for 10 min.
- Set aside.

- Mix flour, salt and pepper.
- Lb.
- into meat.
- 3.
- Heat lard in Dutch oven, brown meat on all sides.
- 4.
- Add in broth, horseradish, spices and cranberry mix to meat.
- Cook on low heat for 2 hrs.
- 5.
- Add in onions, carrots and turnips to Dutch oven.
- Continue cooking for 30 min.
- Let meat stand for 15 min before slicing.
- Remove vegetables with slotted spoon.
- Serve gravy on the side.
