Streusel Coffee Cake
- 1 box Commercial cake mix
- 2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 cups shortening, chilled
- 2 cups GENERAL FOODS INTERNATIONAL, any coffee flavor
- 3 cups chopped black walnuts, toasted
- Prepare cake batter as directed on package; pour into greased parchment-lined full sheet pan (or half sheet pan for trial recipe).
- Place remaining ingredients in food processor container; cover.
- Pulse until ingredients are well blended but walnuts are not too finely ground.
- Sprinkle evenly over batter.
- Bake in 350F-standard oven (or 300F-convection oven) for 35 to 45 minutes (or 25 to 30 minutes for trial recipe) or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
- Cool completely.
- Cut into 3x2-inch pieces to serve.
