Simple Apple Pie
- 2 Apples
- 2 tsp Lemon juice
- 200 ml Water
- 80 grams Sugar
- 4 pieces Puff pastry
- 1 egg's worth Egg yolk
- Peel the apples and soak in salted water (to keep the apples from browning).
- Heat all of the ingredients, then add the apples from Step 1 once it comes to a boil.
- Cover the pot and boil the apples for 15-20 minutes.
- Put the apples from Step 2 in a bowl and set them aside to cool.
- Cut into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
- Cut the puff pastry sheets in half and cut long slits in half of the sheets as shown.
- Place the apples from Step 3 on the sheets of puff pastry without slits.
- Lay the sheets of puff pastry with the slits on top and brush the edges with egg yolk.
- Use a fork to press the edges down to seal the pies.
- (The egg yolk will act as a glue.)
- Brush the surface of the pies with egg yolk (to add shine).
- Bake the pies in the oven for 15-20 minutes.
- All done!
