Grandma's Stuffed Green Peppers Recipe
- 4 lg. green peppers
- 1 sm. onion
- 1 tbsp. shortening
- 1 pound hamburger
- 1/2 c. uncooked rice
- 1 (46 ounce.) can tomato juice
- 1 cube vegetable bouillon
- Garlic salt
- Celery salt
- Salt and pepper
- Cut off tops of 4 green peppers.
- Pour boiling water over peppers.
- Let stand 30 min.
- Drain.
- Chop one small onion and the tops of the peppers.
- Put in pan with one Tbsp.
- shortening.
- Let simmer for 10 min.
- Add in one lb.
- hamburger.
- Let cook 10 more min.
- Add in 1/2 c. uncooked rice.
- Mix well.
- Put in a casserole dish.
- Put garlic salt, celery salt, salt and pepper in tomato juice, then pour over peppers.
- Put in slow oven for 2 hrs.
