Tortilla Soup
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 Tbsp. oil
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 (14 oz.) can beef bouillon
- 1 (14 oz.) can chicken bouillon
- 1 can water
- 1 medium size can (about 1 1/2 c.) V-8
- 1 tsp. cumin, salt and chili powder
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 3 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 to 2 Tbsp. bottled steak sauce
- Saute onion, chilies and garlic in oil until soft.
- Add rest of ingredients and bring to a boil; lower heat and simmer for 1 hour.
- I add some cut up chicken breast when I make it.
- Precook the breast first.
- When serving, put shredded Cheddar cheese and tortilla strips or chips in bowl and add soup.
- Sprinkle cilantro chopped up on top.
