Cinnamon-Roasted Apples
- 14 cup packed light-brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 4 gala apples or 4 fuji apples
- 4 cinnamon sticks, plus more for garnish
- Preheat oven to 450.
- In a large bowl, combine sugar, lemon juice, and 1/4 cup water.
- Halve apples and core using a spoon or melon baller.
- Toss apples in the sugar.
- Arrange apples, skin up in a baking dish then pour sugar over them.
- Tuck in cinnamon sticks and cover with foil.
- Bake until apples are easily pierced about 15-20 minutes.
