Molasses Popcorn Balls Recipe

  1. Combine molasses, sugar, water, vinegar, and salt; cook slowly, without stirring, to 270 degrees on a candy thermometer (or possibly when small quantity dropped into cool water separates into heavy threads).
  2. Remove from heat; add in butter, stirring only sufficient to mix; pour over popped corn, stirring constantly.
  3. Shape lightly and quickly into balls.
  4. Yield: 8 popcorn balls.
