Cake-style Okonomiyaki

  1. Prep Coarsely chop the cabbage.
  2. Chop green onions into small rounds.
  3. Dice ham to 1-2 cm.
  4. Crack and beat the egg.
  5. Prep Line a cake pan with parchment paper.
  6. Preheat the oven at 230C/446F.
  7. Combine and mix together all ingredients in a bowl.
  8. Add ingredients.
  9. Add water in 2 to 3 batches and stir.
  10. When there are no lumps left in the batter, add cabbage, green onion, and ham.
  11. Mix.
  12. Fold in lightly.
  13. It will become hard and glutinous if you knead too much.
  14. When everything is mixed evenly, pour into the cake pan.
  15. Drop lightly onto a flat workplace to remove any air bubbles.
  16. Even out the surface.
  17. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour at 230C/446F.
  18. Remove the aluminum foil to brown.
  19. Test with a skewer.
  20. If it comes out clean, it's ready to eat.
