Big E's Super Mac and Cheese
- 1/2 lb. smoked sausage, casing removed, finely chopped
- 1 tsp. minced garlic
- 1 lb. boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/2 cup chopped onion King Sooper's 1 lb For $0.99 thru 02/09
- 1/4 cup chopped celery
- 1/4 cup chopped green pepper
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 can (14-1/2 oz.) crushed tomatoes
- 1 pkg. (14 oz.) KRAFT Deluxe Macaroni & Cheese Dinner
- 1 tsp. Italian seasoning
- 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 lb. (4 oz.) VELVEETA, cut up
- Heat 12-inch nonstick saute pan on medium-high heat.
- Add sausage to pan; cook 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add garlic and chicken; cook 3 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add onion, celery and green pepper.
- Season with salt and black pepper.
- Cook 3 minutes.
- Add tomatoes; cook 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Meanwhile, bring 6 cups water to boil in 2-quart stockpot.
- Add Macaroni to boiling water; cook 7 to 10 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.
- Drain macaroni.
- Add to ingredients in saute pan.
- Season with Italian seasoning.
- Stir in Cheese Sauce Mix, butter, milk and VELVEETA.
- Cook 5 minutes or until VELVEETA is melted and mixture is thickened, stirring frequently.
- Serve immediately.
