3 Step Lasagne
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 6 oz. lean pork
- 3/4 c. chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic minced
- 1 (1 pound) can tomatoes
- 1 (15 oz.) can tomatoes sauce
- 2 Tbsp. parsley
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. basil leaves
- 3 c. (1-24 oz. carton or 2-12 oz.) creamed cottage cheese
- 1/2 c. grated parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. oregano leaves
- 1 (8 oz.) package lasagne noodles (cooked & drained)
- 3/4 lb. (3 cups) mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 c. parmesan cheese
- Step 1:
- Cook beef, pork, onion and garlic in large sauce pan. Drain off all fat.
- Add tomatoes, and break them up with a fork. Stir in tomato sauce, 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes, sugar, 1 tsp. salt and basil.
- Heat to boil, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat; simmer uncovered for 1 hour or until mixture is the consistency of spaghetti sauce.
- Reserve at least 1/2 cup of meat sauce mixture for finally topping.
