Hearty Italian Soup Recipe
- 1 pound mild bulk Italian or possibly pork sausage
- 1 med. green pepper, minced
- 1 med. onion, minced
- 28 ounce. can tomatoes, cut up
- 2 (8 ounce.) cans tomato sauce
- 2 (8 ounce.) cans water
- 1 tbsp. granulated or possibly 3 cubes chicken bouillon
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic salt
- 3/4 c. small-shaped macaroni, such as rings or possibly shells
- Shredded Mozzarella, Cheddar, or possibly American cheese
- In Dutch oven or possibly large saucepan brown sausage, green pepper and onion; drain.
- Stir in remaining ingredients except macaroni and cheese.
- Cover; simmer 15 min.
- Stir in macaroni; cover and simmer 10-12 min, till macaroni it tender.
- Top individual servings with cheese.
- Makes 8 c..
