Cheddar Broiled Tomatoes
- 3 large tomatoes, cut in half
- 14 teaspoon salt
- 14 teaspoon pepper
- 1 12 cups fresh breadcrumbs
- 34 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 14 cup butter or 14 cup margarine, melted
- 12 teaspoon paprika
- Preheat broiler.
- Cut thin slice from bottom of each tomato half; discard.
- Place tomatoes on rack of broiler pan; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Mix bread crumbs, cheese and butter until well blended; spoon evenly over tomatoes.
- Sprinkle with paprika.
- Broil, 3 to 5 inches from heat, 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
