Cheese Bread

  1. Mix butter, mustard, onion and poppy seeds. Cut the crust from the loaf - DO NOT remove the bottom crust. Slice 3/4 of the way through the loaf every 1 to 1 1/2 inches. "Paint" the entire loaf with the mustard mixture (between the slices also-not the bottom). Fold one or two slices of cheese and place between each bread slice across the loaf. Top each slice of bread with a slice of partially cooked bacon. Bake in a 350 degree oven of 15 minutes. The cheese should appear "melty". Place the loaf under the broiler to brown the bacon, watching closely so it doesn't burn. Slice and serve with your favorite soup.
