Bechamel Or White Sauce Recipe
- Saltsa Bechamel
- 4 Tbsp. butter
- 6 Tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp freshly grnd pepper dash of nutmeg (optional)
- 2 c. lowfat milk
- Method:In a heavy sauce pan, heat butter over a low heat; add in flour, salt, pepper, and nutmeg; stir till well blended.
- Remove from heat.
- Gradually stir in lowfat milk and return to heat.
- Cook, stirring constantly, till thick and smooth.
- Makes 2 c..
- With Large eggs: When sauce is thick, remove from heat and gradually add in 2 Large eggs, slightly beaten, stirring constantly.
