Bechamel Or White Sauce Recipe

  1. Method:In a heavy sauce pan, heat butter over a low heat; add in flour, salt, pepper, and nutmeg; stir till well blended.
  2. Remove from heat.
  3. Gradually stir in lowfat milk and return to heat.
  4. Cook, stirring constantly, till thick and smooth.
  5. Makes 2 c..
  6. With Large eggs: When sauce is thick, remove from heat and gradually add in 2 Large eggs, slightly beaten, stirring constantly.
