Chocolate Covered Grapes

  1. Pick the grapes off of the branch but keep the little stem attached you will use this as a handle.
  2. Wash grapes.
  3. Drain them thoroughly on paper towels for several hours.
  4. Size of the grapes can vary but medium sized grapes work best.
  5. Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper; set aside
  6. In a small saucepan combine milk chocolate, semisweet chocolate and shortening.
  7. Heat and stir over low heat until chocolate is melted.
  8. Holding each grape by the stem, dip partially into the melted chocolate.
  9. If necessary, spoon chocolate over grapes to coat.
  10. Let excess chocolate drip off.
  11. Place grapes, stem side up, on wax paper prepared cookie sheet.
  12. Chill for about 30 minutes until chocolate is firm.
