Easy Dill Onion Bread

  1. In small mixer bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of the flour with the yeast.
  2. In saucepan, heat milk, sugar, butter, salt, dill seed and onion until warm, stirring constantly.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Cool if above 115u0b0.
  5. Add to dry mixture.
  6. Add egg.
  7. Beat at low speed for 1/2 minute, scraping bowl.
  8. Beat 3 minutes at high speed.
  9. By hand, stir in remaining flour.
  10. Cover.
  11. Let rise until doubled, 30 to 45 minutes.
  12. (An easy way to do this is to put bowl in your oven and add a pan of hot water on lower shelf and close the door).
  13. Stir down.
  14. Spread evenly in a well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan or a large round casserole.
  15. Let rise until nearly doubled, about 30 minutes.
  16. Bake at 350u0b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
  17. Cover loosely with foil if bread browns too quickly.
  18. Remove from pan.
  19. Cool.
  20. Makes 1 loaf.
