Hilltop Favorites
- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. (2 sticks) butter or margarine
- 3/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 3/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 eggs or 4 egg whites
- 1 c. coarsely chopped nuts
- 1 pkg. real milk chocolate chips
- 1 Minute Quaker oatmeal (as much as you can work into the dough)
- Mix flour, baking soda and salt.
- Set this aside.
- Cream softened margarine and sugar until fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla; beat.
- Blend in flour mixture, then oatmeal.
- Stir in nuts and chocolate chips.
- Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets 2 inches apart.
- Bake at about 375u0b0 for about 10 minutes.
- Watch carefully to avoid overbaking.
- Makes up to 6 dozen small cookies.
