Frosted Orange Salad

  1. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water in a large bowl.
  2. Gently stir in sherbet, pineapple and oranges.
  3. Pour into a 12 x 8 x 2-inch pan.
  4. Set aside.
  5. Combine orange juice, egg, sugar and flour in a small saucepan; cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly.
  6. Allow to cool.
  7. Prepare topping mix according to package directions.
  8. Fold into cooked orange mixture; spread evenly over salad.
  9. Cover and chill overnight.
  10. Yields 12 servings.
