Tomato Cream Sauce for Pasta

  1. Heat oil in steam-jacketed kettle (or large pot for trial recipe).
  2. Add onion and garlic; saute 10 minutes or until tender.
  3. Add tomatoes and tomato sauce; mix well.
  4. Bring to boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low; simmer 30 to 40 minutes or until thickened, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add cream cheese, sugar, basil, salt and pepper.
  7. Cook until cream cheese is completely melted, stirring constantly.
  8. Serve over hot cooked pasta.
