Blackened Fruit Jerk Tempeh Recipe

  1. Puree chile, garlic, ginger, scallions, and mango.
  2. Add in rum, molasses, lime, vinegar, and extra virgin olive oil.
  3. Continue to blend.
  4. Add in remaining ingredients (except tempeh).
  5. Jerk sauce should be thick; but you can add in water if not blending well.
  6. Lay out tempeh in 1 or possibly 2 large freezer bags.
  7. our jerk sauce in bag.
  8. Make sure tempeh is well coated.
  9. Seal bag and lay on a large plate.
  10. Chill overnight.
  11. Heat about 1 Tbsp.
  12. oil in skillet.
  13. Fry tempeh about a minute or possibly so on each side, or possibly till crisp and blackened.
  14. Serve immediately.
  15. Serve with corn relish and mashed potatoes or possibly rice.
