Bertha's Mullitgatawny Soup
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 14 cup butter
- 1 medium carrot, diced
- 1 stalk celery, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1 medium apple, pared, cored, and sliced
- 1 cup cooked chicken, diced
- 13 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 18 teaspoon mace
- 2 whole cloves, chopped
- 1 sprig parsley, minced
- 2 cups beef consomme
- 1 cup cooked tomatoes
- salt and pepper
- Saute onion in butter in dutch oven.
- Stir carrot, celery, green pepper, apple and chicken.
- Stir, gradually add remaining ingredients.
- Simmer covered for 30 minutes.
