Barbecued Guacamole Burgers

  1. Divide ground beef into 8 equal portions and pat into patties.
  2. Season both sides of patties with salt, pepper, and garlic.
  3. Grill over medium high heat for about 4 minutes per side, or until patties are cooked through.
  4. Brush both sides of each patty with barbecue sauce and cook for an additional minute or two for the barbecue sauce to stick to the hamburger patty.
  5. For the guacamole: Cut avocados in half and carefully remove seeds; set seeds aside.
  6. Scoop out avocado into a bowl and smash with a fork.
  7. Stir in lemon juice, mayo, salt, pepper, and garlic.
  8. Mix until well combined.
  9. Stir in cilantro, tomato and green onions.
  10. Place avocado seed in the center of your guacamole to keep it from turning brown.
  11. (May sound a little weird, but it works!)
  12. Cover and refrigerate until ready to eat.
  13. Hamburger assembly: Toast buns lightly, if desired.
  14. Layer on a barbecued hamburger patty, top with guacamole, lettuce and top side of the bun.
  15. Enjoy!
