Chocolate Waffles
- 1 egg, beaten
- 3/4 c. milk
- 1/4 c. chocolate-flavored syrup
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil
- 1 c. pancake mix (any brand)
- 1/3 c. chopped pecans
- 1/4 c. chocolate-flavored syrup
- 1/4 c. maple-flavored syrup
- butter or margarine (optional)
- In small mixing bowl combine egg, milk, chocolate-flavored syrup and cooking oil.
- Beat mixture until well combined.
- Place the pancake mix in medium mixing bowl.
- Add the chocolate mixture and beat just until combined.
- Pour about half the batter onto the grids of a preheated, lightly greased waffle baker.
- Sprinkle with half of the chopped pecans.
- Close waffle baker lid quickly and do not open while baking.
- Remove baked waffle with a fork.
- Repeat with remaining batter and nuts.
- Stir together 1/4 cup chocolate syrup and maple-flavored syrup; serve with waffles.
- Top with butter, if desired.
- Makes two (9-inch) waffles.
