Spiced Beef Brisket

  1. Place beef in a 3 1/2 to 4-quart crockery cooker.
  2. Combine 2 cups of water, soup mix, ketchup, Worcestershire, cinnamon, garlic and pepper.
  3. Pour over beef.
  4. Cover; cook on low heat setting for 8 to 10 hours.
  5. Remove beef; keep warm.
  6. Pour cooking liquid into a glass measure.
  7. Skim off fat.
  8. Transfer 3/4 cup liquid to a moisture and vaporproof container.
  9. Cool slightly.
  10. Seal.
  11. Label and freeze for up to 6 months.
