Apple Brownies
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/3 c. unsalted margarine
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 1/2 c. egg substitute
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/3 c. applesauce
- 1 c. apples, peeled, cored and chopped
- 1/2 c. walnuts or pecans, shelled and chopped
- Preheat oven to 350u0b0.
- Spray 8-inch square pan with non-stick coating.
- In bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
- In another bowl, beat margarine until fluffy.
- Gradually add brown and granulated sugars, beating well after each addition.
- Gradually beat in egg substitute and dry ingredients.
- Stir in vanilla, apples, applesauce and nuts.
- Spread mixture into prepared pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
- Cool in pan for 10 minutes and cut into squares.
