Sausage And Peppers Italiano
- 1 lb. Italian sausage, cut into chunks
- 2 Tbsp. water
- 2 large green peppers, cut into 3/4-inch wide strips
- 1 medium onion, sliced and separated into rings
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (11 oz.) can Campbell's zesty tomato soup/sauce or Hunt's zesty sauce with garlic
- 1 c. water
- 1 tsp. vinegar
- 1 bag Uncle Ben's boil-in-bag rice (family size)
- In covered skillet over medium heat, cook sausage in 2 tablespoons of water for 5 minutes.
- Uncover.
- Cook until sausage is browned on all sides.
- Add green peppers, onion and garlic to sausage in skillet.
- Cook until peppers are tender-crisp, stirring frequently.
- Spoon off fat.
- Stir in soup, 1 cup of water and vinegar.
- Reduce heat to low.
- Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
