Double Decadence Chocolate Chip Brownies
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces, divided
- 1 1/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- powdered sugar
- 2/3 c. margarine
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. uncooked oatmeal
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Lightly grease 13 x 9-inch pan.
- Beat sugar, margarine, eggs and vanilla until smooth.
- Add 1 cup chocolate chips, melted.
- Mix well.
- Add flour, oats, baking powder, remaining chocolate chips and nuts, mixing well.
- Spread into prepared pan.
- Bake 25 to 30 minutes until brownies pull away from side of pan.
- Cool completely.
- Sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
- Cut into bars.
- Makes 2 dozen.
- To melt chocolate chips, microwave on High 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
