Stained Glass Decorations
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup each sugar and honey
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. Magic Baking Powder
- 1/2 tsp. each baking soda and salt
- 5 rolls ring-shaped hard candies, in a variety of colours

- Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy.
- Blend in honey, egg and vanilla.
- Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; mix well.
- Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Place dough on lightly floured surface; roll out to 1/4-inch thickness.
- Cut dough into desired shapes with 2-1/2- to 3-inch floured cookie cutters.
- Use a sharp knife to cut out a smaller identical shape from each cutout, about 1/2 to 3/4 inch from outside edge.
- Remove the centre of each cutout; mix with the remaining dough.
- Place cutouts on foil-covered baking sheets.
- Repeat with remaining dough.
- Crush each colour of candy separately between 2 sheets of wax paper with a meat mallet or hammer.
- Spoon the crushed candy inside the empty centres of the cutouts.
- Use the end of a drinking straw to poke a hole in the top of each cutout.
- Bake 6 to 8 minutes or until candy is melted and cookies are lightly browned.
- Cool cookies completely before removing from foil.
- Thread a piece of ribbon through the hole to use for hanging.
