Cherry Chocolate Chunk Ice Cream

• 12 cup dried pitted cherries, coarsely chopped
• 2 tablespoons cherry flavored liqueur or 2 tablespoons dark rum
• 2 cups whipping cream
• 1 cup milk
• 12 cup superfine sugar
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 12 teaspoon almond extract
• 3 ounces semisweet chocolate, coarsely chopped

1. Mix together the dried cherries and liqueur.
2. Set aside.
3. In a medium bowl, whisk together cream, milk, sugar, vanilla and almond extract until smooth.
4. Pour mixture into ice cream maker and freeze.
5. When ice cream is thick add reserved cherries, liqueur and chocolate.
