Cane Creek Apple Pie

  1. Heat
  2. oven
  3. to 425u0b0.
  4. Put sliced apples in saucepan and add sugars
  5. and orange juice.
  6. Add just enough water to cover apple slices
  7. and cook until tender.
  8. Remove apple slices and boil syrup until it thickens slightly.
  9. Fit pastry in a 9-inch pan and brush with egg white.
  10. Add apple slices, syrup, nutmeg and
  11. cinnamon and
  12. dot
  13. with
  14. butter.
  15. Strip top with pastry; brush
  16. strips with egg white and sprinkle lightly with sugar. Bake 40 minutes.
