Creamy Bread Pudding

  1. Soak bread in enough water to cover.
  2. Cream butter and sugar well. Add yolks of eggs (if you want a meringue on top) or all of eggs (if you want a whiskey hard sauce).
  3. Add milks, vanilla and salt.
  4. Squeeze out bread well and put into mixture. Add raisins or fruit, if desired. Bake in a slow oven (about 200u0b0) for 1 1/2 hours or until the pudding rises and is brown on top.
  5. Make meringue and put on top
  6. of pudding, running it into the oven for about 10 minutes.
  7. Or make a whiskey sauce by mixing confectioners sugar with butter and whiskey to taste.
