5 Alarm Chili Cheese Burgers
- 1 lb Hamburger (80/20 mix)
- 1/2 cup Shredded cheese (mixed or any)
- 1/2 cup Ketchup
- 1 tbsp Chili powder
- 1 tsp Lawry's seasoning salt
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 1/2 tsp Garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp Onion powder
- 1/2 tsp Cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp Ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper
- 1 Sliced jalapenos as needed (fresh or jarred)
- 1 Cayenne pepper as needed
- First mix together the ketchup, shredded cheese and dry seasonings well.
- Then mix in the hamburger and press into 4 equal patties.
- Press a small dimple into the middle of each one and refrigerator 4 to 24 hours.
- Do not mix in the 5 alarm additives!!

- Set up your grill for Direct Heat.
- Grilled burgers until the juices begin to collects on the top (gently rotate on the grill as needed to avoid over cooking on the hot spots).
- Flip burgers over and cook until the juices run clear.
- Top with cheese and left melt just before removing.
- To create a 5 Alarm Burger: sprinkled burger patty with cayenne pepper before flipping.
- Flip the burger over sprinkle with more cayenne pepper and top with sliced jalapenos (the amount of cayenne pepper and jalapenos will depend on how brave and full hearty you are).
- Top with cheese when the juices run clear.
- Let rest a few minutes and serve with your favorite condiments and toppings.
