Baked Pork Chops And Stuffing

  1. Melt shortening in skillet. Add pork chops and brown on both sides.
  2. Remove from the skillet. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon salt and set aside. Saute celery and onion in butter until tender. Combine the bread cubes and remaining salt, sage, thyme, pepper, egg and water.
  3. Stir in vegetable mixture.
  4. Form stuffing into pyramid in center of 4-quart casserole. Stand pork chops on large end against stuffing.
  5. Bake, covered, in a 350u0b0 oven for 60 to 70 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
