Danish Apple Pastry

  1. Blend flour, Crisco (cut as pie dough).
  2. Put 2 egg yolks into a measuring cup and add enough milk to make 1 cup.
  3. Pour milk and egg mixture over flour and Crisco to make dough.
  4. Divide dough in half. Roll between wax paper or Saran Wrap.
  5. Place 1/2 of dough in a jelly roll pan or a cookie sheet.
  6. Layer cornflakes on bottom. Peel apples and slice.
  7. Put apples on dough.
  8. Mix 1 cup of sugar and cinnamon on top of the apples.
  9. Place second half of dough on top.
  10. Beat 2 egg whites until frothy and spread on top of dough. Bake at 375u0b0 for 55 to 60 minutes.
  11. Make a glaze of powdered sugar and milk and drizzle on top of pastry.
