Chocolate Dipped Almond Horns

  1. In large bowl, combine powdered sugar and butter. Beat until creamy. Add egg yolks and vanilla, beating until well blended. Add flour, almonds, cream of tartar and baking soda. Beat on low speed until well blended.
  2. Shape into 1-inch balls.
  3. Roll balls into 2-inch ropes; shape into crescents. Place 2-inches apart on baking sheet. Flatten slightly with bottom of glass covered with waxed paper. Bake at 325u0b0 for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not brown. Cool completely. Dip half of each cookie in melted chocolate. Sprinkle remaining half with powdered sugar. Makes 3 dozen.
